Monkeys in Rio are like squirrels in the U.S. Doesn't matter if you're walking down the a main road by your apartment or strolling through a park. They just hang out everywhere. Sometimes I forget that I'm living in the world's largest urban rainforest, and the monkeys take me by surprise!

I love them! The 3rd one down is my favorite. Are they mean or nice or just wild and like to be left alone?
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty friendly and will eat out of your hand, but we've been warned against doing that because they can sometimes get violent (if you stop feeding them, or if you don't have enough for all of them)... But in my experience they've usually just been kinda skittish around people.
